On Saturday the last medal decision took place at the European Ski Orienteering Championship in Obertilliach in Austria. At the Relay Sweden dominated the race in both categorys. The Relay took place in the late morning. 12 men teams and 8 women teams with three athlets in every team competed in the discipline at the European Championships.
In the men’s category it was the swedish relay which took the first place. Markus Lundholm, Erik Nordberg and Erik Rost won the gold medal in front of the russian relay (+0.59). Andrey Grigoriev, Eduard Khrennikov and Andrey Lamov were just about one minute behind the swedish relay. The thrid place went to Norway. The realy with three times gold medalist Lars Moholdt also just were one minute behind Russia. With Moholdt Jorgen Madslien and Oeyvind Watterdal were in the team. Team Austria with Roland Fesselhofer, Stephan Varga and Johann Kugler finished at place nine with more than thirty minutes behind Sweden.
In the women's category it also was the swedish relay which took gold. Evelina Wickbom, Magdalena Olsson and Tove Alexandersson won the relay in front of the russian relay (+01.18) with Kseniya Tretyakova, Polina Frolova and Iuliia Tarasenko. The thrid place went to Norway with Ulvensoen Marta, Anna Ulvensoen and Andrine Benjaminsen. The austrian team with Anna Nilsson Simkovic, Lisa Pacher and Lisa Pirker finished on the eight and last place.
